San Clemente High School, Mayfield is a Catholic, co-educational, Years 7 to 10 school in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.Ìý

The school encourages and inspires students to pursue their interests and passions, demonstrate their strengths and contribute to their community. This active involvement, whether it be in the classroom, on the sporting field, in creative arts or through other endeavours, provides opportunities for students to become more connected with their school.

San Clemente prides itself on its sense of community and quality relationships, including those between staff and students. The professional and dedicated teaching staff are devoted to the development of students in a range of academic, spiritual, cultural and sporting opportunities.

A strong feature of the San Clemente community is the contribution of students to the creative and performing arts domain. Learning experiences and performance opportunities are tailored to student interests and abilities and encourage students to reflect, challenge, critique and celebrate across a range of media and contexts. Regular school assemblies, community performances, the ‘Sight and Sound’ exhibition and drama night at the Playhouse are just some of the highlights of the school’s calendar.

Students can also experience various trips and excursions including a Marine Studies excursion to the Great Barrier Reef, Duke of Edinburgh, an annual ski trip and overnight immersions to Sydney for CAPA and year group camps. A highlight of every student’s time at San Clemente is the Year 10 Retreat held during Term 3 each year at Collaroy on Sydney’s northern beaches.

Awarded the Monsignor Coolahan Award for ‘Community’ for its voluntary staff Ministry Team, the school’s strong focus on social justice initiatives is evidenced through involvement in various fundraising events for charity organisations such as Catholic Mission and Caritas Australia.

Students ofÌýSan Clemente High School, Mayfield are encouraged to continue their Catholic education by attendingÌýattendingÌýSt Francis Xavier's College, Hamilton.
