St Kevin鈥檚 is proud of its origins as a Josephite school, following in the footsteps of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. St Kevin鈥檚 is a school that celebrates the diversity that Australia is today. We have a strong pride and knowledge in our Indigenous culture. We embrace the cultures of those from other lands, sharing and learning from each other so that we are all one and equal in our village.

St Kevin鈥檚 students consistently achieve strong NAPLAN results. St Kevin鈥檚 is a Gifted Education Lead school, where we target both literacy and numeracy, while also catering for the needs of students who may struggle in these areas.

St Kevin鈥檚 provides opportunities for all students to work and achieve at their level, allowing them to participate Science and Engineering days, leadership forums and various sporting events. St Kevin鈥檚 senior classes attend school camps and have the opportunity to visit Canberra and experience its many cultural and educational facilities.

Musical expression and creativity are highly valued at St Kevin鈥檚 with students able to join the school choir and perform at local community events. Guitar lessons are available for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6 provided by locally based music company. St Kevin鈥檚 produces a whole school musical where students can contribute their skills in acting, singing or dance on a 2-year cycle. Art club is held during lunch times on a Thursday.

The robotics program encourages students to use their creativity and natural curiosity through hands-on experiences and the mentor-based programs build science, engineering and technology skills that inspire innovation, foster self-confidence, communication, and leadership. St Kevin鈥檚 also provides workshops on learning to code, building websites, creating apps, 3D printing and design, Arduino, robotics, Google research and Digital Citizenship, which encompasses online behaviour and safety.

St Kevin鈥檚 parents form an integral part of the school community assisting with the running of the uniform shop, school canteen, fundraising and school sporting carnivals. Parents and grandparents also assist in the classrooms with reading and craft activities and parents are welcome to accompany classes on various excursions throughout the year.

St Kevin鈥檚 also provides a satellite classroom for the Hunter Aspect School which prepares students with autism for mainstream schooling in their local area.
